Lucy is a one and a half year-old female, spayed golden retriever mix. She has the gentle temperament of a golden retriever and a beautiful blonde golden coat complete with tan freckles on her legs. Unfortunately, she had a rough start in life and did not get much positive interaction with people, so she tends to be shy and fearful at first. New situations are scary for her. Once Lucy gains trust and confidence, her goofy personality really shines through. Lucy is fully housebroken and is trained to use the doggie door. She enjoys being with other dogs and would be very happy in a home with another dog friend. She enjoys being outside and running around and she does well in her crate. She has not had any prior training, but she is extremely smart and learn to sit in less than 5 minutes. Lucy is still a puppy so she has puppy energy to burn and would do well with a forever family who can provide her with the exercise she needs. She would probably do best in a home with children over the age of 5 only because she has puppy energy. She is very soft mouthed and truly does not have a mean bone in her body. Lucy can be a bit of a thief and loves to find treasures that she can carry around in her mouth, yet she has never destroyed anything. She also likes to counter surf but is easily corrected. Lucy is a sensitive girl and needs a forever family who has tons of patience, and can provide her with the love and attention that she’s missed out on for the first year of her life. In return she will give her forever family all her love, devotion, and obedience in spades.
