GRRH accepts Golden Retrievers, Golden Retriever mixes (with Golden personalities), and Flat-Coated Retrievers. We typically receive Goldens from shelters, owner surrenders, and Good Samaritans who have found a stray.

Stray Golden

If you find a stray Golden, please take the dog to a vet clinic or pet supply store to check for a microchip. Owner Surrender

If you are an owner looking to surrender your Golden, we at GRRH understand that this is a difficult decision for you to make, and we do not judge you for it. Prior to making the decision to surrender your Golden, we ask that every effort be made to keep your furry family member in your home.

Should you decide that surrendering your dog to GRRH is the best option, please follow the steps below.

A volunteer with contact you withing 24-48 hours.

Step 2: After our intake volunteer contacts you, you will be asked to send us a picture of your dog.

Step 3: Complete the Surrender Questionnaire (located at the bottom of this page).

Receipt of your completed Surrender Questionnaire and supporting documents does not guarantee acceptance of your dog into GRRH.

GRRH suggests a surrender fee of $50.00 at the time of surrender to help cover the costs of Goldens in our care.
